New president for Croatian champions RK Podravka Vegeta

Croatian champions RK Podravka Vegeta appointed Jorn Pedersen as new president at their annual general assembly last week.

The Danish businessman joins the former EHF Champions League winners as a member of the Management Board at Podravka, the main sponsor of handball team.

Former president, Krunoslav Besvir, left the company and at the same time has finished his time with the most successful Croatian handball team. RK Podravka has got also a new Management Board.

New vice-president, Olivija Jakupec told to the assembled delegates that Podravka will continue to support the handball team from Koprivnica.

“We will try to raise our partnership level,“ she said. “Our new president Jorn Pedersen will cover Europe with all his duties in Podravka and together we will work to strengthen our image even more.

“The new Board has to deal with a lot of challenges. At the same time, RK Podravka has to recognise the conditions under which the company is working and what it means to have sponsor like Podravka. We hope that good results will strengthen that partnership in the near future.“

The new president opened the seventh tournament “Josip Samardzija  - BEPO“, which is named after one of the most successful coaches in Podravka and Croatian history. The host team lost all three matches, while Slovenian Krim Mercator won the tournament.
