Women´s EHF Cup Last 16, first leg preview

Former trophy holders, FC Midtjylland could celebrate the quarter-final ticket of the current edition of the Women´s EHF Cup on Sunday, if they succeed in the double-match against RK GEN-I Zagorje. However, the 2002 and 2011 will play both legs of their Last 16 tie on the opponent´s court in Slovenia.

Four more matches are scheduled for the first weekend (2/3 February) of the Last 16 schedule. The second leg will be played one week later.

The winners of the last edition of EHF Cup Lada Togliatti will make a trip to Denmark to meet with the currently top scoring outfit of the competition Team Tvis Holstebro (156 goals in four matches) in what will be the first international appearance of the Russian side after their legendary coach Evgeni Trefilov retired last December and Alexandr Ovsyannikov took over the post.

Record French champions Metz Handball will host KGHM Metraco Zaglebie Lubin from Poland and Women's EHF Challenge Cup winners 2012 HAC Handball from France will head to Norway´s Bergen, where the local club Tertnes await them.

The ambitious Macedonian side ŽRK Vardar SCBT will meet Russia´s HC "Kuban" Krasnodar.

Three more pairings will get in the Last 16 action only next weekend (9/10 February) with double-headers.
